Commander,
I agree with your assessment and reasoning. Also, I would add that it is not only the lack of enforcement of current laws - which would be enhanced with additional funding of our law enforcement agencies - but it is also the lack of and/or the seemingly selective prosecution and judgements in our courts that consistently makes me wonder where we are headed as a society.

When Elected Charlie will work very hard to correct the failure and inability of the current downtown administration to properly fund police and fire services. He will close the barn door before the Horses get out.
In another area, Yesterday I accompanied Charlie on his visit to the downtown area of Vancouver where he had the opportunity to visit with small business owners.
1. Here are some of the complaints we heard:
a. Fees to erect a sign to advertise their Business.
b. A $50 Dollar Head tax on Employees
c. Inadequate parking and the fear that light rail will worsen the problem.
d. Return of the B & O Tax.
e. Major Developers and Campaign Contributors getting tax incentives, small businesses' getting higher taxes.
f. Vacant store fronts that detract from their business.
Charlie told those he talked to that he would, when elected, work to level the playing field for small business in the areas of taxes and fees, Charlie has stated that the small businesses are the economic backbone of our city and our country and deserved more consideration. He also advised those he spoke to that he would work hard to remove the stumbling blocks that tend to limit the growth of small businesses.
And so it goes.
