The American Red Cross comfort dogs provide paws-itive energy to Army engineers in Korea

With an abundance of tail wags, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District (FED) welcomed comfort dogs to spend time with its employees as part of a wellness initiative on March 20, 2024, at Camp Humphreys. To support Soldiers and civilians in wellness and resiliency, the American Red Cross Animal Visitation Program (AVP) brings dogs to workplaces to interact with personnel and offer healing and comfort. These dogs are American Kennel Club (AKC) certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC) dogs that have been approved to volunteer at various installations across the peninsula.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and its Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) announce the release of the FY23 USACE R&D Annual Report, a deep dive into the innovation and critical thinking throughout the organization to tackle tough engineering challenges and transform future operations. The report highlights dozens of ongoing projects and programs being executed in USACE’s premier research laboratories and the ways in which the techniques and technologies developed in those laboratories are being deployed across the USACE enterprise.
USACE announces campground and day use fee increase in Green River Area

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District announces that recreation day use fees and camping fees will increase at select sites for the 2024 recreation season at the following lakes in the Green River Area, which includes Green River Lake in Campbellsville, Barren River Lake in Glasgow, Rough River Lake in Falls of Rough, and Nolin River Lake in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky.

The Biden-Harris Administration today released the President’s Budget for Fiscal Year 2025. Following historic progress made under the President’s leadership—with over 14 million jobs added since the President took office and inflation down two-thirds from its peak—the Budget protects and builds on this progress with proposals for responsible, pro-growth investments in America and the American people. The President’s Budget will lower costs for the American people, protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare, secure Americans at home and abroad, and reduce the deficit by ensuring the wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share.
Army engineers finish fourth Army family housing tower in Daegu, South Korea

For service members looking for a home away from home, a new family housing tower on Camp Walker will provide just that in South Korea. Representatives from the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, 8th Army, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District, U.S. Army Garrison – Daegu, and the first family to live in the tower participated in ribbon cutting to commemorate the facility opening on Feb. 29, 2024.
