Dredging Creates a Strong Economy and a Cleaner Environment

WEDA Fellows

WEDA has established a position (WEDA Fellow) to assist WEDA members/commissions in their goal of being the center of dredging excellence. The goal of this program is to provide an incentive for students to contribute to the advancement of the dredging profession through significant and sustained contribution to the dredging discipline via excellence in dredging education, innovation in practice or education, demonstrated meritorious service, and/or knowledge sharing.

2026 Fellowship

Application Deadline: November 30, 2025

The Western Dredging Association is pleased to enter the third year of the WEDA Fellows program. Effective February 1, 2026, the program will provide an incentive for students to contribute to the advancement of the dredging profession through significant and sustained contribution to the dredging discipline via excellence in dredging education, innovation in practice or education, demonstrated meritorious service, and/or knowledge sharing.

The Fellows program will provide $6,250/term or $12,500/school year to one or two eligible students. Eligibility will include students currently in their senior year of undergraduate work, masters and doctorate students, maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, in educational disciplines including, but not limited to, dredging, ocean engineering, coastal engineering, marine engineering, civil engineering (with a study focus on water), nature-based solutions, and oceanography.
