Driving Directions

The Gulf Coast Chapter of the Western Dredging Association is conducting its annual meeting from November 7-9, in New Orleans, LA. The meeting will provide a forum for exchanging information of interest to the dredging industry and its associates. Representatives from all areas of the industry, including regulatory, resource agencies, contracting, and manufacturing, will attend to discuss dredging economics, benefits, technologies, and current issues.


  • Monday (11/7/22)
    • The Dredging 101 Course will be instructed by Dr. Donald Haynes from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. That will be followed by an Ice Breaker from 6-8 PM at the Lowes Hotel.
  • Tuesday (11/8/22)
    • The agenda will consist of technical presentations and a luncheon program with a keynote speaker.  The afternoon session will conclude with chapter business and appointment of board members for 2023.  Following this, an evening reception will be held aboard the Steamboat City of New Orleans.
  • Wednesday (11/9/22)
    • A unique half-day session will allow WEDA members and dredging industry personnel to meet USACE District representatives and state government officials on a one-on-one basis for discussion of upcoming dredging projects.

The Dredging 101 - “Basics of Dredging, Dredged Material Management and Environmental Considerations” course has been developed and is provided exclusively by the Western Dredging Association (WEDA) for the purpose of helping anyone interested in learning about the basics of dredging and dredged material and environmental considerations in an easy, enjoyable and efficient manner.  |  view course details

REGISTRATION AND CONFERENCE FEES: All Attendees, Sponsors, and Exhibitors MUST register  |  

$300 - WEDA Members | $400 - Non-Member | $200 - Gov't Employees 

Fees include access to all functions, including meetings, presentations, and exhibitors and services throughout the conference. The fees also include the following events:

  1. Icebreaker with light hors d'oeuvres on Monday evening
  2. Breakfast & Luncheon with Keynote Speaker + Coffee and Snacks – Tuesday
  3. The Offsite Reception on Tuesday evening on the New Orleans Riverfront Steamboat
  4. Brunch + Coffee and Snacks - Wednesday
  5. *WEDA's Dredging 101 Short Course can be added for an additional $100 fee. You may attend the course without attending the conference.
