The Board of the Pacific Chapter of WEDA invites you to submit an abstract for a technical presentation or poster at our Fall 2018 conference in Honolulu, HI. New to the 2018 conference is an additional half day of conference proceedings to provide attendees more presentation time slots. There will also be a poster session and additional marketing opportunities for attendees may be available, upon request. In addition, the conference will be held Tuesday through Thursday instead of following our regular Wednesday through Friday schedule.

Presentations and posters on all aspects of dredging and disposal, navigation structures, environmental restoration, and related topics are welcome and presentations specifically relevant to West Coast issues or projects are encouraged. Please limit your abstract to one page. If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to give a presentation on that subject at the conference. The deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended to Friday June 15, 2018. Please specify if you are more interested in a presentation or poster.

Projected Agenda Summary: 

  • Tuesday sessions will include the 2018/19 Federal Dredging Program presentation as well as the Corps/Industry and Ports Meeting from 8-11 AM, Invited Paper Presentations from 1-4 PM, and a Hosted Ice Breaker Luau 5-8 PM.
  • Wednesday agenda will consist of technical presentations and a luncheon program. A tour unique to the culture and industry of Honolulu will follow the luncheon.
  • Thursday will continue with technical presentations throughout the day and conclude with chapter business in the early evening. Please note this conference has an additional half day of presentations for attendees to have the chance to share talks.

Centrally located in downtown Waikiki, the Hilton Waikiki Beach on Kuhio is within easy reach of the white sand beaches of Honolulu in an area full of tropical beauty, gourmet dining, entertainment options, and a plethora of nearby indoor and outdoor adventures.

  • Captains ($1,000) – includes prominent logo placement throughout the event, recognition at the ice breaker, and space at the registration table for information and giveaways.
  • Leverman ($500)  – includes prominent logo placement throughout the event and recognition at the ice breaker.
  • Deckhand ($250) – includes logo placement at the event and recognition at the icebreaker.
