WEDA Young Professional of the Year Award - 2025

WEDA’s Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes positive contributions toward providing WEDA and/or the dredging community significant value during the past year or recent years.

2025 Young Professional of the Year Recipient: Jeremy Gasser, Geosyntec

Jeremy Gasser is presented the WEDA Young Professional of the Year award in recognition of early-career achievement and contributions to the dredging community.

Criteria:

• Nominee should be 35 years of age or younger as of December 31 of the prior
• Member of WEDA at time of nomination
• Award recipient shall be selected by the WEDA Awards Committee based upon review and assessment of the nominations received.
• The examples of accomplishments, contributions, and achievements provided below are not exclusive and are provided as guidance to the qualities to be addressed in the nomination.
  1. Author of recent dredging industry related technical/scientific paper(s)
  2. Advancement of dredging technology (e.g., construction, monitoring, design, safety, environmental, or survey)
  3. Contributions to the WEDA organization
  4. General achievements and leadership in dredging community
  5. Significant project accomplishments or milestones
  6. Mentoring For example, outreach to students in elementary, high school, or college; development/mentoring of a WEDA chapter at a local university/college
