WEDA Dredger of the Year Award

WEDA’s Dredger of the Year Award recognizes laudable contributions of significant value toward WEDA and the dredging community during the past year or recent years.  The 2025 WEDA Dredger of the Year Award was presented at WODCON XXIV in San Diego, CA

The 2025 Dredger of the Year Award Recipient: Dylan Davis, US Army Corps of Engineers

Dylan Davis is named the 2025 Dredger of the Year in recognition of extensive and outstanding contributions to the dredging community and to the Western Dredging Association.

Criteria:

• Member of WEDA at time of nomination
• Award recipient shall be selected by the WEDA Awards Committee based upon review and assessment of the nominations received.
• The examples of accomplishments, contributions, and achievements provided below are not exclusive and are provided as guidance to the qualities to be addressed in the nomination.
  1. Author of recent dredging industry related technical/scientific paper(s)
  2. Advancement of dredging technology (e.g., construction, monitoring, design, safety, environmental, or survey)
  3. Contributions to the WEDA organization
  4. General achievements and leadership in dredging community
  5. Significant project accomplishments or milestones
  6. Mentoring For example, outreach to students in elementary, high school, or college; development/mentoring of a WEDA chapter at a local university/college
