I appreciate your interest in WEDA's webinar, "Sediment Management for the 21st Century: The Planet and People Need a Better Way."

When occurred:
Tuesday, November 28, 2023, 4 EST

Presenter:
Dr. Todd Bridges
University of Georgia

Zoom Facilitator: Kathryn Thomas, ANAMAR Environmental  Consulting, Inc.

 General Overview:

The movement of billions of tons of sediment in rivers, reservoirs, and along coastlines around the world is influenced and managed through engineering.  Sediment processes interfere with infrastructure systems.  Engineering disrupts sediment processes that build and support natural landscapes.  The desire for more resilient and sustainable systems highlights the need for innovation and better ways to engineer and support sediment processes, infrastructure, and the natural systems upon which we depend.  This webinar will identify both challenges and opportunities for progress in sediment management.
